Simple Joy

Recently, I have had many days when it is hard to keep positive. There is so much negativity in the world, it is easy to get caught up in it. Every time these days happen, I always reflect back to these scriptures:

Alma 57:27

Mormon 5:14

1 Nephi 13:37

D&C 4:7

2 Nephi 31:20

3 Nephi 9:14-15

3 Nephi 12:3-12, 16

I encourage you to read those, if you are ever loosing confidence, or have a lack of positivity.

But one scripture that I can get help from, no matter what the situation, is D&C 68:6. It reads,

"Wherefore, be of good cheer, and do not fear, for I the Lord am with you, and will stand by you; and ye shall bear record of me, even Jesus Christ, that I am the Son of the living God, that I was, that I am, and that I am to come."

I love that scripture, and the truthfulness that it brings. If you ever have any doubts, or any fears, just know that The Lord will always be with you. He loves you, and there is not a single moment of any day where He is not watching over you.

Choose kindness. Choose happiness. Choose positivity. 

Just take a moment and realize how blessed we all are. Throughout our crazy, busy lives, it's easy to get caught up in things that don't really matter. But if you just look around, the smallest things can be the biggest tender mercies. This world really is amazing. 

Life is so happy. I challenge all of you to share happiness to someone today. Write them a letter, telling them how you appreciate them, give someone a compliment, smile at someone. You never know what they could be going through, and one little smile could change their day. You are one of a kind. You are strong, brave, and an amazing Child of God. Joy is one of the easiest things to have, so share a simple little joy.

Little Emma(:

This is Emma.

She is a lover of cats, swing sets, watermelon, her daddy, Hungry Hungry Hippos and everything beautiful.

From the minute I met her, she has always been the cutest little girl ever, who gives the best hugs!

Every time she sees me sad, or lonely, she gives me the biggest hug, and says nice things in her cute little 3-year-old way of talking.

She is the biggest example to me. She has such a strong spirit, and is so lovable to everyone. She definitely inspires me to be a better person.

She has the most gorgeous eyes, and most CUTTESSST smile that makes everyone else smile!

This quote from Elder Uchtdorf reminds me of her:

"But those who want to improve and progress, those who learn of the Savior and desire to be like Him, those who humble themselves as a little child and seek to bring their thoughts and actions into harmony with our Father in Heaven—they will experience the miracle of the Savior’s Atonement. They will surely feel God’s resplendent Spirit. They will taste the indescribable joy that is the fruit of a meek and humble heart. They will be blessed with the desire and discipline to become true disciples of Jesus Christ." - President Dieter F. Uchtdorf

I'm so excited that my little Emma will be my step sister in just two weeks! 

 She is the sweetest girl ever, and she makes me a better person.

I'm so thankful for this girl in my life. She opens a new way of looking at life, "Simply beautiful, and beautifully simple."

Keenanda Wedding 7.18.15

On Saturday, July 18, 2015, my oldest sister, Amanda, got married in the Oquirrh Mountain temple! 

For months, we had been working so hard to pull of the perfect wedding for Amanda and Keenan, and 7.18.15 was the day that all that work payed off. 

That morning was one of the craziest mornings of my life. There was still so much setting up and decorating to do! 

Finally after we all got ready, we headed off to the temple. It was crazy to think that Amanda would never live in the same house as me ever again, and after tweleve years of that being the case, it was quite sad, but I was so excited for her to get married in the Temple and be sealed for eternity!

The temple was beautiful! And it was such a beautiful day, so that made it 183739 times more perfect!

This is my other sister, Heather. She's pretty cool, I guess.

Even though I wasn't able to go inside the temple for their sealing, I could still feel the spirit so strongly! There isn't a better feeling than the feeling the Holy Ghost gives you.  

After the sealing, we all took about a gazillion pictures.

These two cuties on the bottom will be my two new sisters in a couple weeks, and I'm so excited and so lucky to have such cute little sisters who are such great examples to me! They were holding hands all around the temple so they wouldn't get lost! They are too sweet!

After the temple, we got ready for the reception that night! 

We set up this ADORABLE timeline of pictures of them, and it was just the cutest ever.

Instead of spending all this money on a huge, fancy wedding cake, they had doughnuts shaped as a cake! Smart, right?!

The reception was just amazing! Best one I have ever been to!

We did the cutest thing! About 5 minutes before the reception ended, we all lit sparklers, made two lines, and had Amanda and Keenan walk through the two lines, and out the door to their brand new married life!

It was such a beautiful night full of smiling faces and happy hearts. Everyone was so helpful with all the food and decorations, and all in all, it was a perfect day!

(p.s.The lights were so pretty, so of course I had to take a million pictures;)
